Last week, I told you that I would really jump on board with caring about Jay-Z and Beyonce's marriage if somebody could prove that their union would cause the price of gas to go down (among other things). Well, let's just say I'm on board with Jayonce. Remember when I said,
"I'm leaving right now to go wait at the gas station for them to change the price of premium to $1.00/gal. Surely this wedding is a sign from heaven. *lifts hands and weeps*
Well, guess what? It happened, I was just waiting at the wrong station!
Between the hours of 9am and 6pm on Thursday, April 10th, a Wilmington, NC gas station accidentally had their pumps set at $0.35 for premium when instead it should have been $3.35. (You do the math. That station lost a LOT of money!)
Hundreds of drivers waited in line at the station, triggering the need for police to intervene and maintain crowd control and clear traffic jams. Only after NINE HOURS of hundreds of vehicles passing through the station did someone notice that maybe something unusual was going on. Why did it take the station employees 9 hours to pick up on that? To top it all, one employee, Shane Weller, actually complained that customers paid the cheaper price all day without saying a word. “People had been coming in all day stiffing us, not telling us nothing,” Weller said. “They knew something was wrong because regular gas was still $3-something a gallon, and when have you ever known premium gas to be lower than regular?” (full story)

*clasps hands like when little children pray*
"Hi, Lord it's me. Please let it happen in Baton Rouge. Thank you. Amen."
